Promoting Safety In The Trucking Industry
The Nebraska Trucking Association Safety Management Council (SMC) members promote safety, professional growth, and collaboration in the Nebraska trucking industry. The community of fleet safety professionals connects safety professionals to make a lasting impact on the roads and in their careers by enhancing their safety management expertise, staying informed about the latest industry regulations and trends, and fostering a culture of highway safety.
What We Do
SMC provides members with essential resources, education, and a strong network. The SMC empowers members to grow professionally while making a meaningful impact on Nebraska and the industry.
Education & Networking
SMC hosts monthly Lunch and Learns, held every second Thursday from September through May, that explore emerging trends, enhance members’ safety management skills, and keep members up to date on regulations.
Industry & Event Support
The council plays vital roles in NTA events, including NTDC and the Heartland Trucking Summit, and recognizes excellence in Nebraska, including Driver of the Month, Fleet Safety, and Safety Director of the Year.
Collaboration & Industry Insights
SMC members are a resource for each other and for NTA members. Through their collaboration, they create a continuous improvement environment where safety wins.
Community Involvement
SMC strengthens the industry, fosters a culture of safety, and supports Nebraska’s commitment to safer roads. Members volunteer at NTA outreach events, inspiring the next generation and promoting trucking careers.
