Nebraska Truck Driving Championships

This annual event is a showcase of skill, precision, and safety, bringing together the best in the industry to test their knowledge and driving abilities. Whether you’re a returning competitor or a first-time participant, this is your chance to prove you have what it takes to be the best in Nebraska.
Show Off Your Skills
The Nebraska Truck Driving Championships is open to professional truck drivers who maintain an accident-free record. Competitors compete in four phases that challenge both their industry knowledge and hands-on driving skills.
Winners in each class advance to the National Truck Driving Championships. NTA member companies sponsor their drivers and owner/operators to attend the two-day contest.
Championship Phases
- Written Exam – A test covering safety regulations and trucking industry facts.
- Vehicle Inspection – Identify defects in a pre-set truck inspection.
- Personal Interview – A conversation with a law enforcement officer.
- Driving Skills Course – Navigate a challenging course designed to test precision and control.
Championship Classes
- Straight Truck (Class A, B, or C license)
- Three-, Four-, and Five-Axle Sleeper Berth & Five-Axle Flatbed (Class A license)
- Five-Axle Tank (Class A license with N or X endorsement)
- Twin Trailers (Class A license with T endorsement)
- Step Van (CDL or Non-CDL)
- Concrete Mixer (Class B license)

Donate Equipment
The NTA needs your donation to bring the event to life. Each year, companies across the state provide equipment for the Championships. The event needs tractors, trailers, straight trucks, step vans, shuttle vans, golf carts, and much more.
Volunteer To Support
Everyone is welcome to volunteer during the Championships. You enable the NTA to provide a world-class event for our Nebraska drivers. All volunteers are invited to the NTDC Awards Banquet on Saturday night, free of charge.
