February 17, 2022–The Nebraska Trucking Association is pleased to award the February 2022 Driver of the Month to Lowell “Butch” Schweer, Jr. Butch has been a commercial driver for Norder Supply for 15 years.

Butch was nominated by the executive team of Norder Supply for his outstanding work ethic and dedication the company every day. Butch possesses a high-level of professionalism and is accountable day in and day out.

Steve Tietjen, Norder Supply’s Development and Recruitment Manager and who nominated Butch said, “Butch’s commitment to service stands out and his peers see him as a leader.  Our customers appreciate his loyalty by getting them their products in a timely manner every time.  He truly cares about his job, team, and our customers.  He will bend over backward to make sure our customers are taken care of.” 

Butch treats his rig like it is his own and ensures safety is number one. Butch has passed numerous roadside inspections with no violations discovered over his 15 years as a driver. He brings another level of customer service to the clients of Norder Supply by carefully and respectfully entering and exiting a customer’s yard.

When Butch is not driving he enjoys spending time with his wife, Donna. They love spending time with their have children and grandchildren for many family events. Cutting firewood is one example that brings his whole family together. He enjoys Polka Dancing and keeping active.

NTA Driver of the Month

Butch was selected from a group of professional drivers nominated by their company officials. Driver of the Month recognition is based on a driver’s exceptional safe driving record and professionalism in and out of the transportation industry. This award is issued each month by the Nebraska Trucking Association’s Safety Management Council in conjunction with Nebraska State Patrol Carrier Enforcement.
