Memo declares moratorium on UCR enforcement
The Commercial Vehicle Safety Alliance issued a memo to roadside inspectors and other truck enforcement officials announcing a moratorium on registration enforcement for the 2010 Unified Carrier Registration (UCR) year. The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration has not yet completed the rulemaking that sets the fees for 2010. Once the fees are set, then participating states will mail registration notices to you if you are subject to the UCR. Your base state should allow you a reasonable time to pay the registration fees. After participating states have agreed on an enforcement date, then CVSA will notify inspectors to begin enforcement. Inspectors may still check for compliance with UCR registration for prior years.
