2010 mileage deduction set at 50 cents per mile The Internal Revenue Service has set the allowable deduction for business use of a car, van, pickup or panel truck at 50 cents for calendar year 2010. The 2009 rate has been 55 cents. There are also allowances for medical use, moving, and using the vehicle while doing work for a charity.
